  1. My average number of pageviews is around 300 - today I had 3000! I admit, I've not been able to fully follow through with all of the daily tasks (although they are in my to do queue!) but part of the credit for my upswing in traffic goes to 31DBB and some of the great people I've met on this forum.

So many thanks to Darren and larakulpa and all of the great bloggers!

  2. great to hear that you've had such an impressive spike in traffic - congratulations.

What was the main reason for the traffic? Did someone link up? Was it social media traffic? Or just a combination of factors?

  7. Thanks everyone! Darren, it was mostly social media somebody posted it on Digg and it did fairly well there, then it hit Stumble Upon and Guy Kawasaki tweeted the link. The particular post was part of my "Museum of Snack Foods" where I take pictures and try unusual foods. It seems like a fair number of people that saw the original post followed an internal link in the post to view another snack food posts, as well as some of the links on the related posts plug in I have at the bottom of my posts.

I'm not expecting to pull those kinds of numbers every day - yet - but I am glad to see that social media works very well for those sorts of posts. Lots of pictures and the "ewwww gross" factor! I posted the link on this forum and several of the posters here helped me out with some diggs and stumbles to keep the ball rolling. Thanks so much for that!

I was also fortunate enough this week to be featured on Blogging Without a Blog which is a terrific resource for bloggers. The community is amazing and very welcoming. I've met so many new blogging friends there and it's helped me to build a network of fellow bloggers.

My blog is just over a year old so all you newbie bloggers keep plugging at it, the traffic will come!

  8. Wow, Tracy, that is amazing! Congratulations!!

My traffic has trippled since the start of 31DBBB, which is awesome. The great thing is, it hasn't dropped off at all and my subscriber numbers have more than doubled too. I only recently launched my blog from beta (on Blogger), but I'm confident that much (most?) of my success has been through 31DBBB. I have made great connections here, both with more experienced bloggers and less experienced bloggers. All of them have been fantastic!

Thanks to all of you who have made contact. Let's keep building!!!

  11. I've had a massive jump in my stats too. This has been considerably my best week in over a year of blogging. I am not sure exactly what to relate it to although I'm certainly able to relate it to some of the tasks and the way it has focussed my efforts a bit after I was flagging a little ibt.  I know there were a couple of controversial posts too- one was linked by a BBC blog and another was linked to a forum.

It's quite amazing to see really.

  12. For me, not so much increased traffic but better monetization. Income on March was 100 euros per day. This month I have had a 50 euro day.

Congrats on your huge traffic spike. Try to keep that traffic as your loyal readers! I had a similar spike, although much smaller, once thank to a newspaper article. I made a welcome page for them and suggested they subscribe to my newsletter if they like what they see. Quite many did. (Darren has an article about this one, too)

  13. Congrats to everyone who's seen some improvements (whatever they may be for you)!

Fantastic traffic spike, Tracy - "Ride the wave" and make sure you've done what it takes to keep those readers interested and subscribing (maybe add something like "Enjoy this post? Subscribe here..." kind of thing to the bottom of it.

  14. My best "spike" last month around 10k in 3 days last month. It's a lot of fun to hear woopra's real time audio alerts when something takes off.

Lately I've been very surprised that some of my search terms are ranking high on google.

    31DBBB has definitely helped.

  15. Since I've been following the 31DBBB my traffic has dropped significantly and most of my search engine traffic is now leading to old posts that I linked to from newer ones.

    Weird!

  16. Last Thursday, traffic spiked big time at my blog, thanks to a number of other bloggers who tracked back to one of my posts about how to make the most of Help a Reporter Out leads to earn free publicity in the national media.

I was proud of the article, so I shared it with some bloggers who have similar audiences who want to learn about DIY publicity.  I asked if they would like to share it with their followers, and they did.

If you ask for what you want, you sometimes get what you ask for.  I love that.

This challenge is just great.  Thank you.

  17. Good news: traffic is still up and had a post go viral

Bad news; went so viral my server is down tonight. Yipes.

Nancy I'm really glad to hear about your success. Just asking is the hardest part sometimes, isn't it? Yet almost all of us are willing to help.

  18. Congrats Tracy.  Your blog is great.  It's amazing the impact a little attention to detail can have, huh?  Since 31DBBB so many good things have happened to me and my blog.

I've met fab bloggers, many of whom i hope will be my colleagues/friends for years.  Gotten a few offers to partner.  Pretty nice.  And, had a 29% increase in my page views over last month.  As well as an increase in time on site.  Really great.  It inspires me to get my SEO in shape and add a newsletter....after the challenge of course.

Oh, Tracy, I near had a heart attack when my site went down.  Too much traffic like you.  Seems like a good thing, as Martha would say.
